When Wild Bill and Lady Liberty first met no one could have ever guessed how the pair of heroes would have would up. Both came from heroic legacies stemming from the Queen City’s past, from the early 20th century. Wild Bill’s great uncle protected the Eastside neighborhoods occupied by German immigrants from criminals, hate groups, and corrupt police officers who preyed on the settlers in an adopted identity taken from German folklore, The Teutonic Knight, whereas Lady Liberty’s grandfather served the predominantly Irish neighborhoods of The Valley & South Buffalo areas from similar forces as The Irish Ironman.
The pair first met when the city’s first superhero team, The Stampede’s core members were in great danger and the Maid of the Mist contacted various independent heroes throughout the Western New York region and was able to recruit a number of them including the ‘Modern Day Cowboy’ and the ‘Living Symbol of Freedom’ as the media called them.
At first the pair couldn’t stand one another and squabbled almost consistently, mainly from when Wild Bill teased her which led to several fights, but in time it became clear that the pair were attracted to one another. Eventually the pair developed a romance, keeping it a secret for a time, but ultimately their teammates found out and after some time the couple went into semi-retirement after marrying hoping to start a family, which eventually happened in time.
On occasion Wild Bill and Lady Liberty have either been called back to aid the Stampede or the Western New York region on their own, but remain retired for the most part, but to their amazement they discovered when their son was a teenager, he was born with a portion of his mother’s powers, giving him super strength, super speed, super endurance, super reflexes, flight, and regeneration. Where this will lead to isn’t known at this time.
